Lampeter Café

Welcome!

Last year has been a strange and difficult for many individuals, businesses, and industries as they responded to shutdowns, regulations and limitations, and The Lampeter Cafe is no exception.

We are again opening our spaces for events so that our dear old house, that lovely Upper Room and the Livery might fulfill their designed purposes…and again be witness to the sounds of celebrating life’s sweet moments, honoring lives and the gathering of minds.

We are currently booking through 2021. You can find more information on the rental spaces on our Venue Rentals tab.

There are still many questions pertaining to the future of the business and property. What we know is that it has been an absolute privilege to serve the community and we appreciate each of you. We appreciate the Speckled Hen crew and the manner in which you supported them through the difficult transitions of the past year.

History

Circa 1760, this colonial property on Lampeter Square has been home to a livery, tavern, wainwright, blacksmith, and automobile repair shop. Various owners and businesses offered hospitality to the community and travelers on the old Conestoga Road (Route 741). The beautiful brick home has been repurposed as a fast-casual café to continue its service in the village of Lampeter. Lampeter Café is honored to be the 2017 recipient of the Community Revitalization Award by the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County.
